NMC Diesel Technology Sponsorship and Caterpillar Scholarship Programs
NMC is pleased to offer students who wish to become heavy equipment and agricultural diesel technicians, an opportunity to earn their Associates Degree in Diesel Technology from Central Community College (CCC) in Hastings, Nebraska. There are two separate programs interested students can apply for:
The NMC Student Sponsorship Program (for Agriculture and Heavy Construction)
As the exclusive Caterpillar dealer in Nebraska, NMC offers numerous student sponsorships through our NMC Student Sponsorship Program. This program will allow selected applicants the opportunity to earn a two-year Associates Degree in Diesel Technology. The sponsorship program provides funds to cover tuition and book fees. Additionally, students who are accepted into the NMC Sponsorship Program receive a Student Tool Set and Cabinet to help begin their career path. This tool set and cabinet is valued at $5,400. The two-year sponsorship support is worth over $15,000 to the selected students. NMC believes this program will enable the students to be prepared for a long-term career (not just a job) at NMC. In addition to the above assistance, NMC will also offer the students summer intern positions that will allow them to apply hands-on skills at one of NMC's 5-Star certified facilities.
The NMC sponsorships will be for the 2011-2013 associate degree school years. In order to qualify for the sponsorships, applicants must:
- Visit the Central Community College campus at Hastings
- Complete an application and be accepted to Central Community College
- Complete an application for the NMC Sponsorship
- Take, or have taken the school provided ASSET, COMPAS or the ACT test
Finalists for the sponsorship program will be invited to interview with NMC selected service management personnel. NMC will contact student finalists to arrange interviews. Sponsored students must agree to work for NMC for a minimum of two years upon completion of their Associate Degree.
The Caterpillar Foundation Scholarship
In addition to our Student Sponsorships, NMC also offers five $1,000 Caterpillar Foundation Scholarships from the Caterpillar Foundation fund. There is no obligation required to receive the five $1,000 scholarships, students only need to complete our Caterpillar Scholarship form.

NMC has hired many CCC graduates that did not receive our sponsorships. NMC believes the CCC Diesel Technology program provides a solid foundation that enables graduates to have an excellent career opportunity at NMC.
